Ascension was founded in 2018 and had an initial deal by deal private equity fund strategy where it successfully invested in individual companies across different industries in South Africa. The current Assets Under Management under this strategy amounts to c. R1.2 billion (Enterprise Value). After closing Ascension Private Equity Fund 1, the Ascension deal by deal funds reached final close. As such, there are no further deployments under the deal by deal funds. Ascension successfully already exited one of its first investments whilst the remaining transactions are now in value building phase after which harvesting will commence.
